Healthy Choice Offerings

As a benefits-eligible faculty or staff member, you have access to many health-promoting programs alongside your health plans. Some featured offerings during the Open Enrollment timeframe are:

Other Healthy Choice Offerings include a primary care physician copay discount, fitness incentive program, and Gympass membership, which are outlined below. All of these are designed to encourage you to take an active role in your health care and save money.

Primary care physician (PCP) copay discount

If you enroll in the USC Trojan Care EPO, EPO Plus, or the USC PPO plan and designate a PCP for yourself and each of your covered dependents, you will receive a $10 discount on your office visit copay each time you visit your PCP (excluding visits to a specialist).

Be sure to designate your PCP by the 15th of the month for the credit to take effect on the first day of the following month. This discount applies to each covered family member with a designated PCP and is only available through the USC Trojan Care EPO, EPO Plus, and USC PPO plans.

Fitness incentive program

The WageWorks Fitness Incentive can help you save money on your healthy lifestyle choices by reimbursing you for many of the most common health and fitness services and activities – up to $220 for 2023. You don’t need to be enrolled in a medical plan to participate.

The program is simple. You pay for eligible fitness expenses as you would normally, save the receipts, and then file a claim at (if you have a Flexible Spending Account, you use the same login). You will be reimbursed on your next paycheck.

Eligible expenses include:

  • Fitness devices (e.g., Fitbit, Apple Watch, etc.)
  • Memberships and fees (e.g., gym, fitness center/studio, health club, swim, tennis club, etc.)
  • Fitness classes and sports instruction (martial arts, yoga, Pilates, meditation, etc.)
  • Sports leagues and teams
  • Race or walk registration

Gympass is a program that provides faculty and staff with access to thousands of gyms and fitness activities (in-person and online) at low cost with no contracts. This membership fee is also an eligible expense for the fitness incentive program.
